columbo-268641_960_720There are some very interesting unsolved mysteries that have occurred in Las Vegas. If you are one who loves mysteries and have a little detective in you, you will enjoy the ones we will share now.

62 year old Terri McClure left her home in Reno to attend her son Tim’s wedding at Lake Tahoe. The date was January 14, 1983. After the wedding, there was celebrating and gambling at one of the local casinos. After which Terri, would have headed home.

The next day after the wedding, McClure’s son went to her home to visit. He could not find his mother and reported her missing. It was two days later that she was found dead. She was found in her car in the parking lot of a Carson City casino with two gunshots to the head.

The prime suspect was her son, Tim. He raised suspicion due to the fact he was the beneficiary on his mother’s life insurance policy and he didn’t have a consistent alibi. Tim maintained that he gambled alone on his wedding night after walking his mother to her car. However, no one could validate his story. He and his wife submitted to a polygraph, but both showed that they were not being truthful.

For some reason, years later, Tim wanted the tv program Unsolved Mysteries to do a program about his mother’s murder. As they investigated it led to Tim being charged with the murder. Ultimately, he was never tried because the DA determined there was not enough evidence to bring to trial. The murder is still unsolved.

The next unsolved mystery is about the disappearance of a trucker named Trevor Angell. Angell was a 28 year old Canadian. In 2000 he delivered a load to the Los Angeles area, after which he picked up another load to take back to Canada. While in route, he contacted his wife and complained that he was tired of trucking and wanted to quit the business. He told his wife he hadn’t slept in four days and that he was hauling his last load.

A few days after talking with his wife, he had a conversation with a dispatcher. This proved to be the last conversation that he had with anyone, as far as we know. He disappeared.

One place that Angell is known to have stopped was Whiskey Petes that is in Primm, Nevada, right over the California line. He did have a reputation for gambling. It is known that someone made nine withdrawals from his bank account. His wallet was found in his truck. There was no missing cargo and no signs of a struggle or robbery.

There were some reported “sightings” of Angell in Texas. Was it really him? This is another unsolved mystery. Did something happen to Angell or did he fake his disappearance. So far, no one knows.
