The First 8 Minutes of 2016 in Vegas Will Be Spectacular! Be There!
If I had to pick just one day of the year to be in Vegas, it would be New Year’s Eve. It will be a night to remember. It always is, even though some people won’t remember for obvious reasons. Take pictures just in case.
This year the first 8 minutes of 2016 will be celebrated by an amazing $600,000 fireworks display. It will be televised worldwide and there will be an expected 330,000 people attending the celebration. The Strip will be closed to auto traffic during the evening. The Strip will become one massive block party.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that Phil Grucci, CEO or Grucci Fireworks shared this about the fireworks show:
He said the pyrotechnic show with a song dedicated to each of the seven Strip properties that launch fireworks for their rooftops — the Stratosphere, The Venetian, Treasure Island, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Aria and MGM Grand — will last 8 minutes, 18 seconds
There is simply nothing like the Strip on the last night of the year. If you have any intention of going this year, make your plans now. Maybe you can still get a room for under $400. I just saw a room advertised at Motel 6 for $265. Better grab it now. Seriously, you may have to search in North Las Vegas, Jean or Primm, Nevada, to find a room you can afford. I’ve had to do this in the past.
