Don’t Forget “The Park”
All week long the blogs, newspapers, and other news outlets have been singing the praises of the new T-Mobile Arena. And, it is certainly something worth shouting about. The new 20,000 seat venue will draw the best talent and visitors from around the world.
The Killers opened the Arena and set the tone for what will follow. The Arena is a much needed addition to the Strip’s entertainment stages. It will raise millions of more revenue dollars into the area’s economy too.
All that said, there is another part of the story that is being overlooked: The Park. The Park is set between the Arena and the Strip giving folks a wonderful place to go on their way to or back from the entertainment at the Arena. It will also draw in those simply walking the Strip looking for things to do and see.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports:
At 5.5 acres, The Park, sandwiched between New York-New York and Monte Carlo, will offer a transition point between the Strip and the 20,000-seat venue. MGM Resorts is spending $100 million on The Park, including the cost of renovating the New York-New York and Monte Carlo plazas.
What does The Park offer visitors? For one thing there is something that will make summer visitors very happy. They can cool off by ten degrees thanks to the shade structures, 200 trees, and a unique misting system. This alone is worth the stop.
The Park is an innovative entertainment and dining area including eye catching LED light sequences that will illuminate from within the artsy shade structures. The entire Park setting will be new and refreshing. Read more about The Park here.
