Building Boom Continues-This Could Be Really Big!

shutterstock_327833351We have been reporting over the last months about the many new building project taking place or scheduled to take place this year and next. This spring will bring the debut of the T-Mobile Arena. In addition, work continues on the World Las Vegas Complex at the former Stardust location, Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino on Sahara, and the Budweiser Beer Park at Paris. Things are booming!

Now there is a plan for a new domed stadium for the UNLV football team and possibly a future NFL franchise home. This could be a big boom to the area’s academy.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports:

Casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. will lead a consortium of investors planning to build a $1 billion domed stadium on 42 acres near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas that would house the school’s football team — and possibly a National Football League franchise.

Andy Abboud, Las Vegas Sands’ senior vice president of government relations and community development, said Thursday that Las Vegas needs a modern stadium with at least 65,000 seats to drive additional tourism to Southern Nevada.
